We are seeking a highly outgoing, relationship-driven Vice President of Business Development to help expand our private credit platform by building strong referral partnerships with business bankers and commercial lenders. The vast majority of our deal flow comes from banks that cannot fund certain transactions due to credit box limitations — and your role is to be the trusted, go-to alternative they call when they need a solution for their clients with owner occupied commercial real estate needs.
This is a front-facing, high-autonomy role for someone who thrives on networking, relationship-building, and being out in the market. You will represent our firm to banks, lenders, and financial professionals, positioning us as a reliable capital partner for declined commercial owner-occupied real estate loans.
This is a high-performance, relationship-based role with significant upside for top performers. High producers in this role earn $250,000+ annually, while maintaining flexibility to design a schedule that supports real work-life balance.
What You’ll Do
Build and maintain a strong referral network of business bankers, commercial lenders, and financial professionals
Develop long-term relationships with banks and lending institutions as their preferred private credit partner
Source declined or non-bankable owner-occupied commercial real estate loan opportunities
Educate referral partners on our lending criteria, process, and execution capabilities
Represent the firm at networking events, industry functions, and professional gatherings
Track and manage referral relationships using CRM and reporting tools
Collaborate with internal credit and underwriting teams to help shepherd deals from referral to close
Who Thrives in This Role
Naturally outgoing, confident, and highly likeable — you enjoy meeting new people and building professional relationships
Competitive, self-motivated, and driven by performance-based income
Comfortable starting conversations, following up, and staying top-of-mind with referral partners
Organized enough to manage a growing network of banking and lending relationships
Resilient, persistent, and energized by long-term relationship-building rather than quick wins
Who Should Avoid This Role
Qualifications
Must be a current commercial lender, business banker, or specialty lender working in the commercial space
Must have an existing professional network of business banking / commercial lenders
Strong communication skills — in person, over the phone, and in writing
Comfortable working independently with minimal day-to-day supervision
Compensation & Expense Support
$3,000 per month market representation fee can be earned
Lucrative, commission compensation structure with uncapped earning potential
Top producers earn $250,000+ annually
Monthly expense account provided
Long-term career growth in a rapidly expanding private credit platform
Why This Role
This is a rare opportunity to step into a high-autonomy, high-income role without the bureaucracy of a bank . You’ll be building a powerful professional network, representing a capital platform that solves real problems for bankers and business owners, and creating a long-term income stream based on relationship building.
If you’re energized by people, driven by results, and excited by building something of your own inside a growing firm, this role offers both financial upside and lifestyle flexibility.
