From Tatum Garcia’s experience through her point of view: 

I would definitely recommend this experience to others, especially if they’re interested in banking, sales, HR or even marketing. You get a lot of exposure to the inner workings of the company and how to wear multiple hats.

1) The reason I did the internship is because I wanted more exposure with the different roles in the industry and I wasn’t familiar with the finance sector at all.

2) The best part has been getting to work closely with everyone. It’s a tight knit company with a lot of moving parts and I was never overlooked.

3) My biggest takeaway from this experience is that I’m actually interested in finance and banking. I thought it would be an industry I would never be interested in because I wouldn’t be able to use all of my skills. Now I know it isn’t just about crunching numbers.

At Flatbay Capital we not only want to educate our interns but broaden their horizons and therefore their opportunity. We see many high school and college graduates pass through our doors, but internships are for everyone whether starting a career or finding a new one.
